Shipping
Unless you choose mailing services or Layout Services, you need to select one of the shipping or counter pickup options presented to you on Smartpress.com. When choosing a shipping option, please remember the estimated shipping transit time is based on the number of business days in transit. This does not include weekends, holidays or the day the package is picked up.
For instance, a product shipped FedEx Two-Day and picked up by the carrier on a Thursday would be delivered by end of day Monday.
(Note, we can also update your shipping speed any time before your order is shipped. )
Shipping Types
As a premium online printer, we offer many different shipping options. Before you add your product to your cart, you can select the shipping speed on the product page and see your estimated shipping cost (please refer to the map above for speed estimates). Check out our shipping options below:
Counter Pickup
Counter pickup orders are available anytime after 6 p.m. of the estimated ship date. Please wait until you’ve received an email indicating your order has “shipped” before arriving. Once you’ve been notified your order is ready, it can be picked up anytime (the door to the counter pickup vestibule is open 24/7).
The pickup location is 950 Lake Drive, Chanhassen, MN 55317.
Larger orders may be available to pick up at Dock 11 instead of our pickup vestibule. Get more information about Dock 11 and instructions about picking up your order.
FedEx Ground
FedEx Ground delivers packages to residential, business or commercial addresses Monday-Friday.
FedEx 2-Day
With FedEx 2-Day shipping, your packages are delivered within two business days throughout the United States. You can choose from two delivery options based on your shipment’s urgency: FedEx 2-Day A.M., which offers morning delivery on the second business day or FedEx 2-Day, which provides delivery by the end of the second business day.
FedEx Priority Overnight
Packages are delivered the next business day by 10:30 a.m. to most businesses in the contiguous U.S., by noon to residences and 5 p.m. to some rural areas. Please note, delivery times may vary depending on your location.
Other Options
We can also accommodate other shipping options, like FedEx First Overnight, FedEx Standard Overnight, UPS, USPS, Saturday delivery), as well as third-party. If you’d like to ship your packages with any of these options, please send a message to your PC in your Activity Log.
If shipment is over 600 lbs, we recommend/can ship FedEx Freight, multiple options Economy and/or Priority.
Shipping to P.O. Boxes
We cannot ship to P.O. boxes or APO/FPO via FedEx Ground. However, you can make a request for us to ship your packages via USPS. To do that, just send a message to your PC in your Activity Log.
Blind Shipping
We can also blind ship your print projects. This is a great option for marketing firms and resellers, since blind shipping gives you the option to remove the Smartpress name and address from your packages and add your own.
That way, your customers get their products straight from “you.” Just check the blind shipping box on the shipping page when you’re checking out:

Split Shipping
Split shipping is another option we can accommodate. A split shipment is when a single order containing multiple products is sent in separate shipments. We use this option when there are fewer than 10 addresses/shipments.
Transit Time
For online printing projects, transit times vary. Your order may arrive late due to unforeseen delays in delivery service, equipment failure, illness, etc.
Turnaround time does not include mailing or transit times. Please allow additional business days for delivery based on the shipping method you select.
Printing turnaround time for jobs with FedEx Ground is not guaranteed. We do our best to meet or beat our published dates for our online printing services. However, orders with an expedited turnaround and/or expedited delivery service take precedence.
If you have a hard deadline, please reach out to us via your Activity Log, and we’ll provide a quote and do our best to accommodate your needs.
Estimated Shipping & Deadlines
If you have a specified deadline and we fail to meet it, there are two options:
- You will receive a prorated refund of any rush charges
- Or a free upgrade of delivery service to meet your required delivery date
Cancellation of an order based on printing turnaround time is allowed if you indicate in the order notes when placing your order that it is time-sensitive and must be shipped by the selected turnaround time.
