Mailing Permits
As you prepare your online printing piece for mailing, you’ll need to decide on which permit to use. Mailing permits give you permission to use a specific payment method for postage. As a premium online printer, Smartpress offers convenient permit options to suit your mailing. Please note mailing services vary by product and may require a Custom Quote.
Full Mailing Services – Smartpress Mail Permit
- We use our indicia (an imprint that signifies postage has been prepaid and takes place of a stamp) and handle the mailing at our local post office.
- We can use our regular indicia or company indicia (if we have a return address on the mail piece).
- Regular indicia will show city and state information; company indicia will not.
- These mailing permits include:
- Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) Certification
- Deletion of duplicates
- Checking for non-deliverable mail
- We’ll return updated NCOA records and non-mailable records, so you may update your database.
- Postage not included.
Full Mailing Services – Customer Mail Permit
- For when you want to use your indicia and mail from the post office where you hold your permit.
- The mail pieces are bulk shipped to you.
- These mailing permits include:
- Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) Certification
- Deletion of duplicates
- Checking for non-deliverable mail
- We’ll return updated NCOA records and non-mailable records, so you may update your database.
- Postage not included.
Full Mailing Services with Stamp Applications – Smartpress Permit
- A precanceled stamp is used with this option. No indicia is printed. The stamp is required to be in upper right corner of your piece. A return address is required.
- These mailing permits include:
- Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) Certification
- Deletion of duplicates
- Checking for non-deliverable mail
- We’ll return updated NCOA records and non-mailable records, so you may update your database.
- Stamp application includes (choose one):
- First Class postage stamps
- Precanceled First Class stamps
- Precanceled Standard stamps
- Precanceled Nonprofit stamps
