What is UV printing?

It’s a form of digital printing that uses ultraviolet light to dry or cure the raised coating as it’s printed. The result is a textured, 3D effect, high-gloss finish, vibrant colors and clear typography.

Can I add the raised UV coating to both sides of the business card?

Yes, as long as you select a paper stock that’s coated on both sides. The raised UV coating can also be combined with black or full-color ink on both sides. Learn more: Black vs. Full-Color Printing

What are the bleed requirements?

The raised UV coating on your business card cannot have full bleed. However, your artwork file must include a 0.125″ bleed that’s necessary for production.

Bleed is printing that goes beyond the edge of your business card after trimming. If bleed is not included in your document setup, there’s a good chance there’ll be a gap between the edge of the printed area and the cut line. This happens because there’s a tolerance when cutting the printed piece. Learn more: Bleed & Borders

Can my business card have the raised UV coating on an uncoated stock or speciality stock like linen or felt weave?

No, raised UV coating is not available on uncoated or specialty paper stocks. If you select Coated Semigloss 1 Side (C1S), which features a coated side and uncoated side, the raised UV coating can be applied to the coated side of the stock only.

Can I add a laminate to my raised UV business cards?

Yes. Soft Touch laminate is available on one or two sides of your business cards. This laminate gives them a suede-like feel and guards against wear and tear. We cannot add another coating or laminate to the cards. Learn more: Soft Touch Laminate

What’s the standard business card size?

The standard business card size is 3-1/2″W x 2”H. This is the finished size. Be sure to consider bleed as you design your business cards with our predetermined sizes or custom dimensions. Learn more: Bleeds & Borders

What’s a typical order quantity?
