Project Spotlight: Steph Calvert Art
Freelance illustrator Steph Calvert recently rebranded to focus solely on illustration. She wanted her new business cards to reflect this new direction.“As an illustrator I really wanted it to look unique and fun and happy, and I just really wanted to make something that stands out.”
Creativity meets customization
As a first time customer, Steph came to Smartpress after finding that other vendors don’t allow for as many custom options. “Smartpress let me do it completely custom and 2.5” square was the exact perfect size, it looked so great.“ Steph utilized our paper sample book to select her paper, and selected the Ultra-Gloss UV Coating. “When I add a gloss coating, it feels like it makes the details pop a little better.”
Well rounded finishing
Steph added rounded corners to the business card to tie in the design to the printed piece. “I added {them} because, the little brackets that are around my logo, I wanted the edges of the business card to mirror that a little bit and bring the edges of the paper together with the logo. So that was a no-brainer as I was uploading my order.”
Delivery without a hitch
Uploading her order on a holiday weekend, Steph was concerned about receiving her cards in time.“But everything went off without a hitch and I had them in hand a day before the deadline I asked for. It was awesome. Everybody has been really responsive. Everything looks awesome.”
