Arrange the interior pages in the order they will be read, rather than as printer&#8217;s spreads. It\u2019s important to provide the interior page file in the order the pages will be read. In this file:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Page one is the first right-hand body page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Page two is the back of page one<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Page three is the front of the second body page, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What size should my document be in my design file?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each page of your document should be the same size as what you ordered. For example, if you are ordering a 5-1\/2&#8243; x 8-1\/2&#8243; book, the pages in your document should also be 5-1\/2&#8243; x 8-1\/2&#8243;. Your document&#8217;s page orientation must also match your order (e.g., landscape or portrait).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do I need to include bleed?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes. Please include an 1\/8&#8243; bleed on all four sides of the page. You&#8217;ll also want to include a 3\/8&#8243; text\/image safety margin on the spine edge and a 1\/4&#8243; safety margin on all three outer edges of each interior page. Keep all text and imagery inside this line to help prevent them from being obscured by the page bend or curve when the book is open. To calculate the number of sheets, divide the total number of pages by two, then add two more pages for the cover, whether it&#8217;s blank or printed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your file should have twice as many pages as sheets ordered. The interior file must contain individual pages in the order they&#8217;ll be read. When printing a crossover (an image that extends across two facing pages), shift the image 1\/4\u2033 away from the spine. We also recommend ordering a hard proof to review the crossover before printing. Thicker paper stocks accommodate fewer pages, while thinner stocks allow for more. We recommend books have at least 46 pages, and they can be up to 2\u2033 thick. We recommend a minimum spine width of 0.1\u2033. You\u2019ll see the estimated spine width under the Binding section on the product page. This measurement changes as you select your paper stock and sheet count.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please include this estimated width in the total spread, and leave the interior gutter (the blank space where two pages meet at the binding) free of artwork so the glue can adhere to the cover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do I choose the right booklet binding?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Consider page count and usage when choosing a book binding. Smaller page counts are well-suited for a saddle stitch binding, larger page counts work well with a perfect binding, and our coil bound books can handle either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perfect binding provides a clean, professional look and is ideal for larger page counts. Saddle stitch binding allows for uninterrupted imagery across two facing pages, while coil binding lets booklets open flat for easy page turning. If your booklet&#8217;s interior pages contain a mix of black-only and full-color ink, you&#8217;ll be charged the full-color printing price for the interior. Our printing process reads all interior pages as a whole and therefore cannot distinguish between one page being full-color and the rest black-only. Providing a stronger bond on digital print than other glues, PUR requires a longer curing time (at least 24 hours), which is why perfect bound books have a longer turnaround time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do you provide ISBN numbers to self-publish books?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We do not issue ISBN numbers, but if you provide your own with your print-ready file, we can print the barcode on your book for you. For booklets with 40 pages or more, we recommend using the same paper weight for the cover and interior pages.
