This gas penetrates into polyester or polymer, resulting in a print where the ink is embedded into the substrate. Other printing techniques often result in much of the ink sitting on top of the substrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Compared to <a href=\"https:\/\/smartpress.com\/support\/color-ink\/ink-technology-aqueous-latex-uv-ink-and-more\">UV-curable ink<\/a> or latex printing, dye sub is the most colorful and vivid way to print on fabric. For rigid <a href=\"https:\/\/smartpress.com\/support\/stocks-substrates\/banner-materials-sign-substrates\">substrates<\/a>, it creates a depth of appearance, especially when it has a gloss finish. And since it&#8217;s embedded in the fibers and polymer coating, you can\u2019t feel any ink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Features<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Waterproof<\/li><li>Scratch-proof<\/li><li>Durable<\/li><li>Can create photographic quality, depending on the printer<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dye Sublimation Application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For an online printer like Smartpress or any other printer, this type of ink printing requires the use of a disperse dye sublimation ink, a fabric made of at least 70% polyester (ideally 100%) or a heat-resistant rigid substrate and transfer paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Typically it\u2019s printed to specially-formulated transfer paper with a mirrored or wrong-reading image.
